The UK government is going to have to make crucial decisions in both these areas soon, as Trident and the nation's power reactors both reach the end of their useful lives.
The mood-music from Whitehall seems to favour a quiet "yes" to both. It's a polarising issue in which there's a lot of absolutism, but I think the arguments of the 1980s need to be revisited in the light of today's very different world.
